The Bad Guys 2 (2025): Bigger, Badder, and Back in Action!

DreamWorks Animation is set to release The Bad Guys 2 on August 1, 2025, bringing back the beloved crew of reformed animal outlaws for another thrilling adventure. Directed by Pierre Perifel, with co-direction by JP Sans, the sequel continues the story of Mr. Wolf and his gang as they attempt to maintain their new lives as “Good Guys.” However, their efforts are disrupted when they’re coerced into a high-stakes, globe-trotting heist by an all-female criminal squad known as the Bad Girls.

Returning Cast and New Faces

The original voice cast reprises their roles:

  • Sam Rockwell as Mr. Wolf
  • Marc Maron as Mr. Snake
  • Craig Robinson as Mr. Shark
  • Anthony Ramos as Mr. Piranha
  • Awkwafina as Ms. Tarantula (“Webs”)

New additions to the cast include:

  • Danielle Brooks as Kitty Kat, the cunning leader of the Bad Girls
  • Maria Bakalova as Pigtail, a brilliant wild boar engineer
  • Natasha Lyonne as Doom, a deceptive raven and Mr. Snake’s love interest

Plot Overview

Set five years after their initial heists, the Bad Guys are striving to gain trust and acceptance in their reformed lives. Their peace is shattered when the Bad Girls, inspired by the Bad Guys’ past exploits, pull them into a new mission. This unexpected alliance forces the crew to confront their past and question their true nature.

Production and Animation

The film’s animation is a collaborative effort between DreamWorks and Sony Pictures Imageworks, utilizing a mixed production model. Pre-production and a portion of the asset build are handled in-house by DreamWorks, while Imageworks contributes to asset builds and shot production.

Release and Streaming

The Bad Guys 2 is scheduled for theatrical release on August 1, 2025. Following its run in theaters, the film will be available on Peacock for the first four months, then transition to Netflix for the next ten months, before returning to Peacock.
